Lantern Festival Insights and Evidence-Led Guides
This Hub helps you choose the right ChineseLanterns resource by the task you need to complete and the evidence behind it. It curates durable guidance; it does not certify every archived post as current, turn third-party events into our projects, or replace official sources for changing information.
Editorial responsibility: The Yunyi Culture editorial team applies the task and evidence rules shown on this page. This is an editorial routing process, not legal, academic, engineering or cultural approval.
Choose a guide by the task you need to complete
For evergreen culture and visitor understanding, use our guide to lantern festivals around the world. It separates stable cultural interpretation from changing event details.
For a bounded first-party visual-reading task, use our visual guide to an illuminated animal lantern collection. It separates visible factory-image evidence from unsupported project claims.
For an evergreen wordplay and cultural-reading task, use the lantern riddles guide to study clue anatomy, solve original examples and separate interpretation from documented context.
Choose by the decision you are making, not simply by which post was published most recently.

- Plan a venue lantern programme: use the lantern festival planning guide for the broad venue decision.
- Interpret history, symbolism and later legend: use Chinese lantern meanings and evidence.
- Compare regional practices: use lantern festival traditions.
- Choose a destination or visitor format: use the lantern festival visitor guides, then verify changing details with the named organiser.
- Read project-stage and evidence boundaries: use Case Studies and Evidence. Inclusion there is status-aware; it is not blanket verification of every candidate case.
How to read the evidence status
A link identifies the page responsible for a task. It is not, by itself, proof that every statement on the destination is current or independently verified.

| Evidence status | What it supports | What it does not support |
|---|---|---|
| Documented first-party fact | A claim tied to an authenticated company record and stated scope | A broader result, role or outcome not present in that record |
| Official third-party support | A fact within the named institution’s published remit and checked date | A commercial relationship with ChineseLanterns |
| Editorial interpretation | A transparent comparison or explanation based on cited material | A historical certainty, engineering approval or project result |
| Unverified claim | A statement awaiting adequate evidence | Publication as fact or use as authority |
| Prohibited inference | A conclusion outside the available evidence | Any implied customer, organiser, delivery, installation or performance claim |
Evidence-blocked Case Studies remain excluded from authority curation. A useful evidence unit states the conclusion, where it applies, the source or method, the check date and the limitation.
Evergreen guidance versus changing event information
Stable guides can explain how to compare formats or identify the right source. Dates, tickets, prices, parking, opening hours and legal or safety status can change and must be checked with the named organiser, government body or local authority at the time you act.

| The Hub can help with | Check an official current source for |
|---|---|
| Choosing the correct planning, culture, visitor or evidence owner | Event dates, ticket availability and prices |
| Understanding what an evidence label means | Parking, opening hours, access arrangements and venue rules |
| Separating evergreen guidance from archive recency | Current legal, fire, electrical or safety requirements |
This page does not provide legal advice and does not promote a sky-lantern legal page or a time-sensitive event list as evergreen authority.

For a named-event observation guide, see how to recognise physical lantern displays at Chester Zoo.

How resources are selected
An evergreen selection needs a stable user task, a clear responsible page, an explicit evidence boundary and a useful next step. Dynamic visitor guides require a named official owner and a checked date. Legal or safety topics remain on hold until the current authority and scope are verified. Evidence pages must pass their own project-stage, role, claim and image checks.

Latest posts and archive pagination remain separate from editorial selection. Recency is not an endorsement. The previous Hub claims that implied coverage of “every installation”, “15 years”, and access to “actual visitor numbers and revenue figures” are not repeated because Hub-level evidence does not support them.
For a practical visitor task, use our guide to photographing lantern festivals while keeping event rules with the current official organiser.
For a named-event interpretation task, use our Dublin Zoo Wild Lights lantern display guide, while checking all current event details with Dublin Zoo.
For a named lantern-led event reading task, use our Auckland Lantern Festival display guide; current dates, tickets, location and programme details remain with the official organiser.
For an independent named-event interpretation task, use our Cleveland Zoo lantern display guide; all current event details remain with Cleveland Metroparks.
To understand how physical lantern forms shape a Christmas light show, use our visual-reading guide; live event details remain with each organiser.
What this Hub does not certify
Being listed here does not prove that an article is current, that a third-party event is a Yunyi Culture or ChineseLanterns project, or that a candidate case has passed the Case Studies evidence gate. Broad planning, cultural interpretation, traditions, visitor selection, botanical planning and visitor comparisons retain their own page responsibilities.
Search Console, analytics, CRM and AI citation outcomes were unavailable for this governance review. No traffic, ranking, lead or AI-visibility result is claimed, and unavailable data is not recorded as zero.

For venue teams: move from reading to the right planning owner
If you are planning a commercial venue programme, the next step is to use the broad planning guide above to identify your venue type, decision stage and the specialist information you still need. Editorial inclusion does not imply a customer, organiser, installation or project relationship. ChineseLanterns can discuss a project only after the reader has reached the appropriate planning or service owner and supplied relevant venue context.
